Newry BID’s Christine McElvanna and the BID Manager attended the annual Gala Dinner hosted by Newry Chamber of Commerce and Trade at the Canal Court Newry on the 29th June.

It was a pleasure to hear from Liam Nagle CEO of Norbrook who addressed the audience focusing on the growth of the highly successful indigenous company.  He advised that despite uncertainty resulting from the recent UK referendum result on ’Brexit,’ Companies should remain focused on their plan and stick to a robust strategy.

Gavin O’Shea, recently appointed manager of the Canal Court Hotel spoke of exciting times ahead for Newry’s largest hotel and leisure complex, another local family business.  The hotel is undergoing significant refurbishment and branding expanding its offering and appeal.  The audience also heard from Chamber President Michael McKeown who welcomed the appointment of the Chamber’s new CEO, Mary Meehan.
