The ‘BUY LOCAL’ campaign is designed to encourage local people to spend their money within the community of the greater Newry & Mourne area and is spearheaded by Newry & Mourne District Council in association with Newry City Centre Management and Newry, Crossmaglen, Warrenpoint and Kilkeel Chamber of Commerce.

Cllr. Pat McGinn has been integral in the campaign from the outset and strongly believes that shopping locally is the best way to boast the local economy and will help drive forward a new era of business within Newry & Mourne.

The focus of the campaign is to inform local people about the economic and cultural benefits of buying / shopping local, supporting local jobs and making Newry & Mourne area ‘their destination’ for shopping and doing business by investing in the following initiatives:

  • Extensive Advertising and Public Awareness Campaign
  • Billboard Campaign
  • Radio Campaign with Q Radio Network
  • Posters, Stickers, Leaflets
  • Social Media  – Facebook Pages
  • Liaising with local businesses and schools
  • Preparing a marketing guide

It’s all about how YOU can make a big difference to the place you LIVE, WORK & SHOP by applying small changes.  Support your local jobs, encourage community participation.
