A hidden gem of a city-centre getaway. Behind the respectable facade of a fine Georgian listed building is a reveller’s paradise. A large spacious bar and a funky beer garden are hidden away from the public gaze. In fact, it is so well disguised in its respectable surroundings, opposite the cathedral of SS Patrick and Colman, it is a challenge to find.
Despite this, the CWC is always busy. Maybe its the 400 members, maybe its the reasonably priced pints, maybe its the programme of live music at the weekends (definite emphasis on rock!!)
Whatever happy coincidence is responsible, the Catholic Working Men’s Club is a relevant and unexpected addition to nightlife and entertainment in Newry city.
