Mental Health Awareness Training Course

Newry BID provided a Mental Health Awareness Training Course for BID Members at First Derivatives newly opened offices at Marcus Square, Hill Street, Newry.

This training was delivered by Health Matters who covered the risk factors that may contribute to the development of a Mental Health problem, how staff can support others who are experiencing Mental illness & assist those recovering from Mental illness.

This course also enables candidates to understand what is meant by the terms Mental illness & Mental Health, identify the most common Mental Health diagnosis, recognise some of the symptoms of the most common Mental illnesses and identify ways of looking after their own Mental well-being.

This was a very informative session with many local businesses in attendance.
