Newry BID is delighted to support a new city wide initiative to transform boring utility boxes into works of art. The project will see different community groups deciding the theme and concept for each box. Magnet Young Adult Centre working with talented local artist, Zippy, is the first group to see their inspired artwork designs on four of the utility boxes under their chosen theme, ‘Music in Nature’.
The urban reimaging programme is aimed at adding vibrancy to the city centre that expresses the unique identity and spirit of Newry. The initiative was instigated by Newry DEA Forum and is supported by Newry BID in collaboration with Amplified Arts NI.
