Newry Christmas Lights Switch-on

Newry Mourne and Down District Council get ready to fill the district with some Christmas Magic with Switch On Events happening across the district from 17th November until 9th December 2022.

It all kicks off with the Lights Switch-On in Newry on 17th November

Newry will embrace the festive spirit with free family activities at Marcus Square, Hill Street from 5 pm to 7.30 pm as the area hosts the return of the Christmas Lights Switch On. The stage will come alive with festive musical performances from The Uplifted Gospel Choir with Special Guests Emily Flanagan (The Voice Kids Finalist) and Sophie Lennon (Eurovision Jnr Finalist) and hosted by Co. Down singer Connor Martin; there will be FREE amusements, arts and craft workshops, face painting and balloon modeling.

The Southern Area Hospice will also host its Santa Fun Run on Hill Street at 6 pm. Wrap up warm and be there in time to watch Santa arrive to switch the lights on at 6.45 pm followed by traditional and modern Christmas songs.
