Newry BID were delighted to take the lead for the second year in a row in the organisation of the Firmus Energy Newry City Triathlon. With new bike and run routes and centring the event at Albert Basin, it allowed BID to show off the wonderful new greenway and fantastic waterways that Newry is famous for, and highlight Newry City Centre as a perfect place for sporting events. This year it was a fully subscribed event, with competitors coming from as far a Cork to compete in Ireland’s fastest and flattest triathlon, all eager to get a PB, they were also excited to run on the first of its kind floating bridge, that was temporarily put in to place for the event.
