While the festival must be held virtually this year, Grainne and her team still want to create a festival atmosphere in Newry. They have created several public art installations and plan to showcase them along the canal and around the city centre in a bid to brighten up the landscape.

This initiative will be followed a number of weeks later with a Story Trail around Hill Street and surrounding areas. The story will be based around little Town Critters who live underground but because it is so quiet have come up to explore the streets and can now be seen. The Town Critters are like little trolls but only the size of a mouse so tiny little houses, shop fronts, doorways etc will be installed as part of the Trail.

Sticky Fingers would love if some of our members would ‘host’ a tiny critter dwelling on your building / in your window. They feel the project will bring some fun to the city centre streets for people of all ages, but especially the children. The installations will be in place for a number of weeks. They will be accompanied by a story app which will be available free to download and will also feature in the local press.

Newry BID would love to support this campaign by entering all member ‘hosts’ into a raffle to win a hamper of local goods for your team.
